Carrie Stuart Parks has written an intense book that hits you with the force of a Category 5 hurricane! What I love most about this book is that it not only has a fantastic mystery element to it, but that it also weaves together family dynamics. At its core, this book is about the pain of what secrets can cause within a family and how it can destroy. And as always, Parks blends in faith elements and creates several realistic Christian characters who put their hope and trust in Jesus Christ. I loved every moment of this book from the characters to the island setting to the mystery (I guessed part of it but still soooo many surprises!) to the movie references to the intensity of certain scenes. I am a huge fan of Carrie Stuart Parks and this book is a good reminder for me to go ahead and read more of her fantastic Gwen Marcey series!
