My first Christy Barritt novel and it definitely will not be my last. Joey Darling, who played Raven Remington on a TV series called Relentless, is the perfect heroine: goofy, clumsy, and a little aloof! After playing a detective on TV that always knew what to do and what to say, fiction meets reality as Joey finds herself in the Outer Banks in search of her lost father. Along the way, she is thrust in the middle of a murder investigation where she uses all of the Raven Remington tricks she has learned along the way to guide her in the investigation. A possible love triangle emerges early in the series: there is the adventure loving, free spirited Zane; and there is the stoic and probably always reliable Jackson. Loved the way this book played out and loved the setting of the Outer Banks, a location I have visited many, many times in my life. Kudos, Christy Barritt, and I eagerly await more of your books!
