Another Mabry winner! Like many Richard L. Mabry books, he seamlessly blends a medical thriller with a Christian message. And like many of the novellas of his that I have read so far, they deal with main characters in the medical profession. This one deals with a doctor and his nurse fiancée. The ironic thing about Surgeon’s Choice was that I just finished a David Baldacci book that mentioned mixing fentanyl with heroin and opioids; and Surgeon’s Choice talks about this as well. I thought the characters were very likable and the mystery was good. I probably should have guessed what was going to happen, but there were some good surprises here. If you like quick reads and medical thrillers, this book is for you.
