5 stars out of 5!
Richard L. Mabry, MD continues to amaze me as a storyteller. This is my second work of his I have read (the first and this one both being novellas) and I love how he adds elements of mystery, suspense, faith, and medical knowledge in his books. Novellas can be tricky because often they either feel rushed or they lack character development. In both Emergency Case as well as Silent Night Deadly Night, Mabry somehow ratchets up the suspense and plot twists in around 100 pages. Like Silent Night Deadly Night, I had an inkling of what was going on but Mabry provides a few more twists that I did not see coming. And there is also a nice faith element as well as a lesson about consequences of a bad action. After two novellas, I am definitely ready for a Mabry full length novel.
